Gajar ka Halwa

Ingredients

  • Carrots – 1 kg

  • Purabi Milk – 1 ½ litres

  • Green cardamoms - 3

  • Purabi Ghee – 5-7 tbsp

  • Sugar - 5-7 Tbsp

  • Raisins - 2 Tbsp

  • Almonds - 1 Tbsp shredded

  • Dates - 2 Tbsp chopped

Method

 

  • Peel and grate the carrots.

  • Simmer in milk and add cardamoms until liquid evaporates.

  • Heat ghee in a pan and add the carrot & milk mixture.

  • Cook for 10-15 minutes over a gentle flame.

  • Stir in sugar as per the taste required and continue cooking until the halwa turns deep reddish color and gives off a delicious aroma.

  • Stir in the dried fruits and serve.
